The tourist tourist transport sector has called mobilizations for tomorrow Wednesday in almost 30 Spanish provinces to demand solutions from the Government because, they say, they are "the forgotten of this pandemic".

Direbús España, a newly created association representing the group of discretionary and tourist passenger transport (representing some 300 companies), has called for bus demonstrations "against the lack of management and solutions by the Government". In Madrid, they will depart at eleven o'clock in the morning from the Plaza de Conde de Casal and tour the city by coach until they reach the Ministry of Transport.

This sector is made up of more than 3,000 SMEs, of which 80% are family businesses. After the declaration of the state of alarm, these companies suffered a halt as a result of the paralysis of tourism in our country.

These companies are those that transport tourists from one city to another, or that organize transfers to hotels or excursions. They also carry out school routes, which represent 30% of their activity, while tourist transfers are 70%. "We have been without invoicing for three and a half months and this will not be reactivated overnight," says Alfonso Taborda, president of Direbús España.

Three months stopped

Unlike other sectors, such as commerce and hospitality, which have already started their activity, passenger transport has not yet done so, since tourism has not yet been reactivated and will probably not do so until July 1 , which is when Spain will open its borders to foreigners ..

As Taborda points out, as a consequence of this forced stoppage, many companies "are already in a situation of insolvency, because we have not invoiced for three months and we continue to pay."

The association has communicated the protests that it is going to carry out to the government delegations and subdelegations with the schedules, itineraries and security measures that they intend to establish.
