INTERVIEW

After the last few months marked by the coronavirus epidemic and confinement, the French are planning to go on vacation this summer. According to a BVA-Entreprises du Voyage survey released on Monday, a total of 59% of French people plan to leave this summer, and "more than 80%" will opt for France.

This rate of 59% is higher than usual. "This is four points above a normal year", explains on Europe 1 Jean-Pierre Mas, president of travel companies, who recalls that in normal times, "the variations from one year to another are extremely weak. "

"We spent two months locked up"

For this professional, this high result "is the consequence" of confinement, of course. "We spent two months locked up, then fifteen days under house arrest. And now, in town, the French want some fresh air, oxygen, breathing, to come back to life somehow".
