The security of smart door locks is widely questioned by expert advice

Enterprises must shut down good quality to block security holes

The appearance of science and technology and the convenient unlocking method once made smart door locks all the rage, becoming the first choice for many consumers when buying door locks. However, a survey conducted by the Beijing Sunshine Consumer Big Data Research Institute and the Consumer Network shows that more than 60% of respondents believe that smart door locks are safer than traditional door locks, and more than 30% of respondents believe that smart door locks do not have traditional doors. Lock security.

At the same time, less than 10% of the respondents think that the smart door lock is very safe. More than 70% of the respondents think that the smart door lock is relatively safe or safe. Another 10% of the respondents think it is unsafe or not safe.

Security door locks are not safe

Surveillance results are unexpected

Whether it is a traditional door lock or a smart door lock, as a qualified door lock, its safety is most valued by consumers. And security is also a signature feature of smart door locks.

Black technology such as password unlocking, fingerprint unlocking, Bluetooth unlocking, etc., record the face and time of each person unlocking, and identify and analyze based on the stored information ... logically, this should be a very ideal security door lock, but "ideal is very full , The reality is very skinny. "

In a video circulating on the Internet, someone used a small black box the size of a cigarette case to rock back and forth in front of several smart door locks. After a few seconds, the door lock opened automatically. According to professionals, this small black box on the Internet, the professional term is called Tesla coil. Its shape structure is a small black box, as long as the button is pressed, a transient electromagnetic field is generated. When the Tesla coil is close to this working smart door lock, the door lock will automatically open within a few seconds.

Even the biometric recognition technology has problems in actual operation. In a test conducted by the State Administration of Market Supervision last year, a small piece of tape was affixed to the fingerprint recognition area of a smart door lock, and then unlocked several times with the finger that had already entered the fingerprint, and then found 6 people of different ages who did not enter any The fingerprint information detection personnel randomly tried to unlock the door with fingers one by one, and as a result, the door lock could be opened.

Face recognition is also risky. In the quiz, take photos of different angles of the face of the same test subject through the camera, print out black and white photos, and use these photos from different angles to test in front of the camera of the smart door lock. When using this frontal photo to be close to the camera At that time, the door lock opened.

In addition, unlocking the proximity card is also at risk. Industry experts said that when the mobile phone's short-range wireless communication function is turned on at the same time, when the mobile phone is close to the school bag with the induction card, a set of data appears on the mobile phone. The attacker can use the read information to copy a sensor card that is exactly the same as the sensor card unlock information.

In reality, cases caused by the security of smart door locks have also occurred. For example, in a rental house with a smart combination lock in Nanjing, Jiangsu, a female tenant crawled out of a strange man under the bed at midnight, causing the female tenant to be alarmed. According to police interrogation, the man successfully entered the room after cracking the smart code lock of the female tenant. He had not received relevant training.

In the monitoring and comparison tests of smart door locks by the General Administration of Market Supervision and the Consumers Associations, the quality of smart door locks was not satisfactory. At the end of 2018, the State Administration of Market Supervision released data showing that 11 batches of 34 batches of electronic door lock products were unqualified, with a failure rate of 32.4%; risk monitoring was performed on 40 smart door locks, and fingerprint identification of 25% samples Functionality poses a security risk.

In May 2019, the China Consumers Association and other companies conducted a comparative test on 29 mainstream smart door lock products. The results showed that 48.3% of the sample passwords have security risks, 50% of the sample fingerprints have security risks, and 85.7% There is a security risk in opening the sample information identification card.

In August 2019, the comparison test results of online sales of smart door locks carried out by the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Consumers Association showed that half of the samples had 3 or more security risks, of which 8 samples had 4 or more security risks. . Among them, the IC card keys of 24 samples can be cracked and copied, 32 samples can be unlocked with the fake fingerprints made, and 30 samples have poor reliability.

Improve relevant standards in a timely manner

Promote safe and orderly development

In the above survey results, less than 10% of the respondents believe that the smart door lock is very safe, which is surprising. In particular, respondents first consider the safety factor when purchasing smart door locks, which are in stark contrast.

Obviously, smart door locks bring convenience to people's lives, but also bring new risks. The product quality and safety of smart door locks are directly related to consumers' property and personal safety, and must be given sufficient attention.

In an interview with a reporter from the Legal Daily, Chen Yinjiang, deputy secretary-general of the Research Society of Consumer Rights Protection Law of the Chinese Law Society, suggested that, first, companies should be responsible for their products and protect consumers' property and personal safety. The enterprise is the first person responsible for product quality and must be responsible for the quality of the products it produces and sells. Strictly follow the relevant requirements of the Product Quality Law and Consumer Rights Protection Law, take the initiative to control product quality, and take timely measures to upgrade software and hardware to plug product quality and safety loopholes. Regularly inspect the hidden dangers of the quality of the products produced and sold to ensure that there are no safety risks in the products produced and sold. Strictly regulate product logos and descriptions, do not make false or misleading publicity, remind safety precautions in a clearly understandable way, and effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.

Second, relevant departments should improve relevant standards in a timely manner and strictly control market supervision. On the one hand, smart door locks are popular with consumers because of their ease of use. On the other hand, due to multiple new technologies involving fingerprints and face recognition, smart door locks still have many security risks. Relevant departments should establish a standard system for the application of new technologies such as fingerprints and face recognition as soon as possible to provide enterprises with product thresholds and standard requirements and provide a fundamental guarantee for the production of reliable quality products. For new technology products such as smart door locks that generally enter the market and have potential safety hazards, the market supervision department especially needs to strengthen supervision and management. Once a safety risk is found, relevant measures are taken in time to urge the enterprise to rectify and punish it according to law. Strictly control market supervision.

Third, consumers should rationally and scientifically consume and constantly improve their self-protection awareness. When choosing an intelligent door lock, choose the product that suits you, and do not blindly pursue various strange functions and unlocking methods. Smart door lock products should be purchased through regular channels, and carefully check whether the product packaging is clear and clear, whether it has a certificate of conformity, instruction manual, warranty card, etc. Try not to use or turn off the face recognition function and remote unlock function. When using an intelligent door lock with an information identification card unlocking function, the information identification card should be properly kept in daily use to prevent illegal reading and copying. When using smart door locks with fingerprint recognition, you should pay attention to whether there are residual foreign objects or physical damage in the fingerprint recognition module in daily use. If you find that the fingerprint recognition module is abnormal, you should stop using the fingerprint recognition function immediately and contact the manufacturer solve.

Chen Yinjiang called on all sectors of society to pay attention to promoting the safe and orderly development of new intelligent products. For new intelligent products such as smart door locks, all sectors of the society should pay more attention to it, and industry associations should advocate enterprise self-discipline, integrity and law-abiding operations. The news media should fully report the risk prevention knowledge of various new technologies, and at the same time give full play to the role of public opinion supervision, objectively report the safety risks of enterprise products. Consumers who encounter infringement of smart door locks should collect evidence in a timely manner, complain to the local consumer association or market supervision department, and protect their legal rights and interests according to law.
