The Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi appealed to the owners of economic establishments in the emirate to quickly take advantage of the initiative to cancel the violations and fines for delaying the renewal of licenses for all economic forms until the day of March 16, 2020 for more than 72 thousand licenses at a value of more than 246 million dirhams.

The director of the commercial licenses department in the department, Mohamed Ali Al-Murar, warned that whoever did not benefit from the initiative will expose himself to new fines in the event that the license of the commercial establishment does not meet the conditions or expired and has not been canceled or liquidated, which will lead to the accumulation of fines in this case.

Al-Murar stressed in radio statements that the owners of establishments and companies in the emirate can do business either by renewing the license and returning to the practice of activity, by canceling or liquidating the license, or by re-correcting the company’s conditions.

Al-Murar affirmed the department’s readiness to support and support those who wish to continue the activity and help in solving any problems and obstacles faced by the department’s team working to overcome the difficulties faced by investors in the emirate.

Al-Murar revealed the progress of more than 1000 owners of establishments and companies through this initiative, either by renewing or canceling, indicating that the renewal was overwhelming the number of transactions that took place on these licenses in general.

Al-Murar stressed that the initiative to drop irregularities came with the aim of supporting and enhancing the role of the private sector to achieve sustainable economic development by reducing costs of doing business in the emirate and speeding up the pace of economic development, which translates the Abu Dhabi government's keenness to support the private sector in light of the consequences of Covid-19.

Al-Murar pointed out that the total number of licenses is the type of individual institution that was included in the decision to cancel violations and fines for delaying renewal of licenses of 48 thousand and 724 licenses, including 76% of the total number of licenses covered by the decision and the rest are limited liability companies and branches and private shareholding companies solidarity and recommendation and professional and sector companies Governmental and one public shareholding company.
