Michael Taylor, a former member of the US special forces converted to private security, and his son Peter Taylor, were arrested Wednesday in the United States as part of the investigation into the escape of Carlos Ghosn. They are suspected of having helped the former boss of Renault to leave Japan, where he was indicted for financial embezzlement.

A father and son, suspected of helping Carlos Ghosn to flee Japan in December, were arrested in the United States and are scheduled to appear before a judge Wednesday afternoon, a judicial source said. Michael Taylor, a former member of the US Special Forces who has returned to private security, and his son Peter Taylor, both of whom are under arrest from Japan, are scheduled to appear by videoconference at 7:30 p.m. GMT before a Massachusetts federal judge.
