The local official's "ice-breaking" move is known as "the first city to cancel real estate brokers" in mainland China.
Yongcheng officials said that the purpose of this is to "stabilize housing prices." Cai Yafei, deputy director of the city's housing security bureau, told reporters: "We are cracking down on and cracking down on intermediaries' illegal and chaotic behavior." The local real estate intermediary "screamed": "Why is it one size fits all? There are no lawful compliance intermediaries."
Public information shows that in May 2019, the Yongcheng Housing Security Bureau established the Yongcheng Commercial Housing Network Signing Center, which is currently the city's only formal real estate trading platform.
In fact, as early as the end of 2015, the Yongcheng Housing Management Department had “tested water” and established a “Real Estate Supermarket”. Claimed to be the most authoritative and efficient real estate trading platform in Yongcheng, the government provides free security supervision of transaction funds.
And from May 2018, the Yongcheng government stopped the annual review of the "Real Estate Brokerage Record Record". The last batch of intermediary companies with compliance filing certificates also became "black intermediaries" after the expiry of the filing after August 20, 2019. The reporter consulted Yongcheng's official public information and noted that in recent years, the local housing management department has repeatedly carried out special actions to rectify real estate intermediary agencies and successively rectified more than 100 "black intermediary" stores. Yongcheng is located in the easternmost part of Henan Province, at the junction of the four provinces of Yulu, Suwan and Anhui. It is known as the "Gateway of Eastern Henan" and is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shangqiu City.
