From April 28 to May 10, the Ministry of Commerce, in conjunction with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Post Bureau, and the China Consumers Association, launched the second "Double Product Online Shopping Festival" promotional activities.

A few days ago, the Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Gao Feng introduced at a regular online press conference that during the "Shuangpin Online Shopping Festival", there were 115 e-commerce companies, over 100,000 brands, and over one million online stores, with total sales. The amount reached 182.51 billion yuan, an increase of more than 1.37 times from the first event, driving the national online retail sales over 430 billion yuan in the same period, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%. Among them, the online retail sales of physical commodities exceeded 380 billion yuan, an increase of 33.3% year-on-year, and the rate of good reviews of the participating products reached more than 98%, which effectively promoted consumption replenishment and potential release.

To be specific, the second "Shuangpin Online Shopping Festival" showed the following highlights:

First, the performance of new and old domestic products is dazzling. Consumers, especially young consumers, have a greater sense of recognition of domestic products. On some e-commerce platforms, the turnover of more than 500 well-established brands exceeds one billion yuan. The number of new products launched by crowdfunding platforms of multi-appliance merchants increased by more than 60%. Some e-commerce platforms have launched new products with customized domestic products in reverse order, and sales have tripled year-on-year.

Second, new hot spots are constantly emerging. During the event, sales of somatosensory game consoles increased 13 times year-on-year, energy-saving appliances doubled, sales of massage chairs and rowing machines doubled, and smart products and green food increased by more than 20%. For example, on an e-commerce platform in China, sales of smart digital products increased by 113%, and sales of 5G mobile phones increased by 90%.

The third is to actively ease the pressure on export sales. E-commerce platforms have set up special zones and special sessions for export-to-domestic product sales to help foreign trade companies hedge against the decline in external demand. Nearly 10,000 foreign trade companies have settled on the e-commerce platform, and some companies sold 16,000 orders a day. Compared with before the event, the average daily sales volume increased by 300%.

Fourth, poverty alleviation and agricultural assistance promote the two-way circulation between urban and rural areas. During the event, the national rural online retail sales increased by 40% year-on-year, of which the national-level poverty-stricken county online retail sales increased by more than 50%, the rural consumption potential was further released; The national retail sales of agricultural products online increased by more than 70%.

Fifth, live broadcasts continued to be hot. Various merchants and e-commerce platforms have accelerated the creation of new consumer scenes such as live broadcasts, with more than 700,000 live broadcasts across the network and more than 2.9 billion viewers. During the event, some of the participating companies united with automobile production companies to broadcast live sales of more than 4,000 new cars, with sales exceeding 600 million yuan; some of them joined mainstream media to launch public welfare live broadcasts with goods, and the 3-hour sales exceeded 500 million yuan.

Sixth, online shopping has driven the recovery of offline consumption. The activity promoted online consumption in the life service industry and attracted offline stores. The online catering sales of the whole network increased by 68% compared with the same period of last month; the online travel sales increased by more than 150%. During the "May Day" period, on some e-commerce platforms, the average daily consumption of catering online in Wuhan increased by more than 113% compared with the previous week.
