The authority stated that the gross domestic product of the state at fixed prices increased at one trillion and 486 billion dirhams at the end of last year, compared to one trillion and 461 billion dirhams in 2018, a growth of 1.7%.
The volume of non-oil GDP increased to one trillion and 42 billion dirhams, compared to one trillion and 32 billion dirhams in 2018.
The Authority’s report also showed that the country's gross domestic product, at constant prices, has grown by 40% over the past 10 years, and non-oil GDP has grown by 42% over the same period.
Private spending
According to the authority, per capita consumption expenditures amounted to about 63 thousand and 300 dirhams in 2019, compared to 63 thousand and 400 dirhams in 2018, so that the average spending for my monthly consumption amounted to approximately 5275 dirhams per month during 2019, compared to 5283 dirhams in 2018.
The total private consumption spending in the country during the year 2019 scored about 601.8 billion dirhams, compared to 594 billion dirhams in 2018.
Private consumption spending, according to economic concepts, represents the amount of individuals spending on durable goods, such as cars, furniture, and non-durable goods, such as food and consumer goods, in addition to spending on school services, water, electricity, and other basic and supplementary services during a specific period.
According to figures issued by the authority, private consumption spending constituted about 40.5% of the gross domestic product at constant prices during the year 2019 of 1.486 trillion dirhams.
Government spending
As for the level of government consumer spending, it reached 205.4 billion dirhams in 2019, a growth of 12.1% compared to almost 183.2 billion dirhams in 2018.
Government consumption spending expresses the total of what the state spends to provide consumer services, such as health, education, culture, defense, security and justice, because the state is consumed when spending on providing the general needs of the population in the country, according to economic concepts.
It is noteworthy that private and government consumption constitute a basic engine for the economies of the countries, and they, in addition to exports, represent the extent of demand in the economy, which is the primary catalyst for the production side that is based on determining the level of supply in the final outcome according to economic standards.
Sector acquisition
The non-financial projects sector accounted for 86.8% of the gross domestic product, at constant prices, with a value of one trillion and 289 billion dirhams, while the financial activities and insurance sector acquired 8% with a value of 118.7 billion dirhams, and the public administration, defense and social security sector reached 5.3% with a value of 78 One billion dirhams, and the household activities sector at 0.6%, amounting to 8.8 billion dirhams.
Total capital formation increased to 410 billion and 79 million dirhams, compared to 391 billion dirhams in 2018.
