Kim Kyung-hee worked as a salesperson at Hyundai Motor's dealership in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk.

I wrote a promissory note that I borrowed 20 million won from the dealership three years ago.

This is because the store owner requested that it be prepared in case of embezzlement of automobile sales.

I was forced to notarize, which has the same effect as the court ruling.

[Kim Kyung-hee / Former Hyundai Motor Dealer Sales Officer: The lawyer who the owner wants to force, the agent goes there and sets the amount of the promissory note and notarization. The

contract was canceled last year, but the debt remains.

Another salesperson went through the same thing.

[Hyundai Motor Distributor: I have been receiving well-appointed notes for 20 years so far. I'll give you time until next week, so please take all the notarized documents.] When

I refused notarization, the dealership refused to leave the car for more than four months, so I couldn't do business.

The sales representative of a car dealership in Honam area also received a 100 million won notarization in January in response to a request from the owner.

This is a prevalent practice in the automobile sales industry.
[Hyundai Motor Dealer Sales Officer (Honam Area): As we will see later, it is to pay 100 million won in debt. I'm embarrassed.] The

lawyer who notarized the false promised bill claims that there is no problem even though he knows there is no real debt relationship.

[Notary lawyer: (debt) is not present, but issuing drafts as collateral for future debts.]

Notarization of false facts can result in imprisonment for up to 5 years or a fine of up to 10 million won, but punishment Is not easy.

[Song Tae-Kyung / Secretary of the People's Solidarity Association: If a notarized certificate has been made in false form, there is a current punishment method. (Although it is quite difficult to prove the difference from the facts, it is quite likely that sin will not be established.) In order

to prevent a debtor or a reseller from forcing a notary on a debt that has not abused its superiority, account in the notary process. It is urgent to improve the system, such as attaching a transfer statement.
