Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Intelligence Crime Investigation Team has been seizing and searching two locations including LG Electronics' Korea Sales Headquarters and LG CNS since this morning.

It has been reported that 10 personnel investigators and 5 persons in the LG CNS server storage room are in the office of the HR team at the Korea Sales Headquarters to secure personnel-related data.

police are reportedly investigating allegations that there was a hiring corruption scheme that gave preference to 10 applicants in the process of recruiting LG Electronics employees for three years from 2013.

The targets are children of high-ranking public officials or celebrities, and LG Group's former and current executives are considered to be involved in this process.

The police are expected to launch a summons investigation into the staff involved in the recruitment as soon as the analysis of seizures is completed, after obtaining relevant data, such as a scorecard for personnel recruitment until late tonight.

LG says it is not aware of the specific reason for the seizure search, and said it is grasping the situation.
