The director of the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy, Dr. Hashem Saeed Al-Nuaimi, said that all consumer protection standards are applied and guaranteed on e-commerce sites in a similar way to markets, which are subject to follow-up and control, whether in terms of ensuring the quality of goods and their conformity to specifications, or the clarity of offers and the reality of cuts .
Al-Naimi called on consumers to report any fake offers that are monitored on the companies ’websites, to be addressed quickly and effectively.
He emphasized that the Ministry will work in cooperation with the competent authorities to verify any complaints received by it about the violation of the Consumer Protection Law via electronic platforms, pointing out that upon verification of these complaints, penalties will be imposed against violators, which may reach the closure of companies ’electronic pages.
