UNIQLO today restarts Ginza store operations Other stores will restart sequentially May 11 at 17:13

FAST RETAILING, which operates UNIQLO, resumed operations at the Ginza store, which had been closed for about a month, on the 11th. At other stores that have been closed, we plan to resume operations after taking measures such as measuring the temperature of customers and restricting entrance during times of congestion.

After the government declared a state of emergency, FAST RETAILING has temporarily closed 311 stores nationwide, which is 38% of stores in Japan, including the flagship store Ginza.

However, as it became possible to share know-how that is effective in preventing infections, such as cases at overseas stores where business is resuming, we decided to restart business in Japan.

At the Ginza store, which reopened on the 11th, customers are asked to wear masks and disinfect their hands before entering the store, and those who take a temperature measurement and 37 degrees 5 minutes or more will refuse to enter the store.

In addition to installing a transparent screen at the cashier counter to prevent splash infection, all floors are sterilized every 2 hours, and store entry is restricted when crowded.

The company has a policy of restarting operations sequentially from stores that are ready for such infection control measures.

Shunsuke Kanno, Manager of UNIQLO Ginza Store, said, “We would like to continue our business while thoroughly ensuring the safety and security of our customers and staff by preventing infections.”
