The spread of “online product exhibition” in local governments at 4:50 on May 11th

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the number of tourists has decreased nationwide and the product exhibitions at department stores have been cancelled. Therefore, local governments in each region are focusing on online product exhibitions. The movement is spreading.

Fukuoka Prefecture started an online product exhibition that sells foods and furniture at the online market "Rakuten Ichiba" from 2nd of this month in cooperation with the prefecture's product promotion association.

Using the prefecture's budget, we prepared 30% discount coupons, and the planned 10,000 coupons were used for shopping in just 8 hours, so the number of coupons will change from the 1st of next month. We plan to increase the number and conduct the second campaign.

Also in Hokkaido, we started the campaign from last month on the special market of Rakuten Market and Yahoo Shopping that sell special products, and we are planning to distribute the second discount coupon from 11th of this month.

In addition, Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture, is selling assorted local foods that have lost their sales channels due to the influence of the new coronavirus on the official website, and it has sold about 5000 pieces since the end of last month.

Since other local governments have received inquiries about online product exhibitions from business operators of online shopping, it seems that there is a growing trend for people to seek a way out of the internet as they continue to go out of business or leave their department stores.
