He continued: «If it is agreed to process the request, the traveler will receive his own credit number from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, which he will have to provide to (Etihad Airways) agents to book a flight back to the Emirates.

He stressed that travel will be allowed only for travelers who hold a valid residence in the UAE, and who have the approval number issued by the authority.

He noted that an epidemiological test and thermal scan will be conducted upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, and passengers will be required to self-isolate upon arrival for a period of 14 days.

The spokesman indicated that if the flight time to the airport coincides with the curfew hours in the country, he will be asked to show a reservation confirmation or a travel ticket. The spokesman said that outbound flights are currently available until May 31.
