Mercadona, as some supermarket chains have already done, will start selling face masks in its stores to "provide a service" to its customers, the company announced today.

Starting next Thursday, May 14, it will begin to incorporate into its assortment, under the Deliplus brand , non-reusable hygienic masks in a pack of 10 units at a sale price of six euros per package.

Its sum thus to the rest of supermarkets, which since last week have incorporated this product to protect against coronavirus.

Carrefour started selling them two weeks ago. They are sold in boxes of 10 units at a price of 8.90 euros, with no purchase limit.

Then Dia and Lidl joined. They all point out that they have incorporated them into their offer "to provide a service to customers" at a time when everyone is demanding this type of product.

Carrefour sells them on its website. Dia also sells them online in boxes of 50 units for 30 euros including VAT, that is, at 0.60 euros per unit.

In fact, the first day they began to market them, they sold out. Half a million masks were sold in six hotas.

The German chain Lidl also sells them in a pack of 50 units at a price of 29.99, at 0.60 a unit.
