Emirates Airlines said its flight, "EK 783", heading to Lagos, returned to Dubai on the sixth of August, due to a birth on board.

The spokesman added in a statement, "Emirates Today" received a copy of it, and as a result, the plane that left for it was changed after a delay of about 4 hours, pointing out that the safety of our passengers and crew is of the utmost importance to us.

The flight tracking website Airlive reported that the flight was intended to transport Nigerian travelers who want to return to their country; the plane was forced to return just 30 minutes after take off.

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates accounted on the social networking site "Twitter" that the mother and child are currently in a hospital in Dubai.

The mother will be able to return to Nigeria later after obtaining a birth certificate and other travel documents necessary for her child.
