Pôle emploi will reopen its agencies one week after the start of deconfinement, on May 18. The reception of the public will however be limited to activities "which require to be carried out physically and only by appointment".

Pôle Emploi will reopen its agencies from May 18, after a week of preparing the premises, but limiting the reception of the public to a certain number of essential activities, the operator announced on Wednesday in a press release. Initially, Pôle emploi will "focus its activities on those that need to be carried out physically in an agency and only by appointment".

This concerns access to self-service kiosks or equipment in reception areas by the jobseeker to register or update, as well as meetings for which a physical exchange has been identified as essential by the job seeker, counselor or recruiter. "Reception without appointment will be limited to emergency situations, in particular on subjects related to the compensation of job seekers", specifies the operator. Pôle emploi "will continue to carry out its other missions remotely and job seekers and businesses will have to give priority to online services in their exchanges", he adds.

Advisors mobilized remotely

The advisers, of whom nearly 30,000 were able to telecommute during the closure of the agencies, will remain mobilized remotely to support job seekers (by e-mail and by phone at 3949) and businesses (by e-mail and at 3995).

"Our past strategy, which has made it possible to develop digital services, has been reinforced since the start of the crisis. The implementation of teleworking for advisers was done without problem, the link with job seekers, who were able to access a catalog of 150 free online trainings, has never been cut, "said the operator's general manager, Jean Bassères, in an interview with Le Figaro . As a result, "Pôle emploi is better equipped today than in 2008 to face the crisis", he judges.
