His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, directed the Ministry of Energy and Industry to prepare an urgent plan aimed at raising the level of productivity and competitiveness of the medical industries sector in the country, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and local health authorities in the state to determine National requirements and enhancing their own productive capabilities for these important elements to ensure self-sufficiency and continuous preparation for any future crisis.

The team formed to prepare the plan aims to determine the capabilities of the current medical factories and the medical requirements in the country to achieve industrial medical security for vital products and supplies.

On his part, Minister of Energy and Industry Suhail bin Muhammad Al Mazroui said: We have confidence that our medical factories will cover a large part of the requirements and through the study we hope to stand on the required updates and investment opportunities to enhance the strength of these factories and raise the readiness of national manufacturing.

Stressing that all state factories operate in accordance with recognized international standards and issued to a group of countries.

The team will work according to 5 phases, namely identifying priority products for the health sector, assessing the needs of the health sector for priority products, assessing local manufacturing capabilities and gaps to keep up with local demand, initial evaluation of data and choosing the first package of products, and finally coming out with recommendations of the task forces with investment opportunities, the executive plan and partnerships The proposed and propose supportive policies to support the national industries in the medical sector.

This comes in conjunction with the guidance of the rational leadership in starting to formulate the UAE strategy for post-Coved 19 and drawing action plans and setting specific goals and immediate and future targets to meet the urgent development needs and address the current challenges resulting from the Covid 19 crisis, and the development of forward-looking policies to deal with similar environmental, epidemiological and natural challenges in The future, and evaluation of the deficiencies in the sectors that have encountered more difficulties than others in dealing with the current crisis.
