Hilal Saeed Al-Marri, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, said that it is likely that Dubai will start opening its doors again to tourists at the beginning of next July.

Al-Marri told Bloomberg TV that the reopening will likely start gradually and may be delayed until September, noting that this depends on global trends.

The Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai has decided to partially reduce the procedures for restricting movement in the Emirate of Dubai as of April 24.

The tourism sector in Dubai achieved a remarkable growth of 5.1% in 2019, as the emirate welcomed more than 16.73 million international visitors, compared to the same period in 2018, exceeding the rate of global tourism growth.
