Companies affirmed the continuation of food supplies to the state extensively without interruption, during the month of Ramadan and beyond, pointing out that the expansion of foreign contracts, diversification of supply sources and countries of origin, in support of price stability since the beginning of Ramadan, and greatly enhanced the abundance of supply in the market.
She explained to «Emirates Today», that the supply operations go completely smoothly without any obstacles, with the support of government facilities provided to companies, pointing out that every day thousands of tons of food are imported, by air, sea and land, in addition to a large surplus in the stores.
She added that between 100 and 150 containers containing more than 5,000 tons of vegetables and fruits enter the country daily, during the month of Ramadan, according to contracts of supply concluded. Meat is also being imported in large quantities covering the needs of consumers, during and after the month of Ramadan, as the quantities exceed what the market needs during this month.
Companies diversified into supply sources to over 50 countries.
