The number of insurance disputes that the Insurance Disputes Settlement and Settlement Committees have received at the Insurance Authority since the commencement of its operations and functions “on the remote” (561) insurance disputes in various types of insurance.
Insurance dispute settlement committees succeeded in holding (13) “remote” sessions, during which 276 insurance disputes were considered and (207) decisions were issued.
The Authority’s settlement and settlement of insurance disputes committee operates “remotely” through two committees in the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as part of a series of precautionary measures and preventive measures taken to ensure the safety of dealers and employees and maintain public health.
The Authority also provided a service to receive insurance complaints or disputes electronically through the system of resolving insurance disputes on the website of the Authority www.ia.gov.ae. This is part of the group of smart and electronic services provided by the authority to avoid auditing and gatherings in service centers to limit the spread of the new Corona virus "Covid 19".
The Authority is continuously working to develop its services and harness its various capabilities in a way that contributes to the speedy settlement of insurance disputes and the protection of the rights of all parties.
It is mentioned that the formation of committees to settle and resolve insurance disputes in the authority came in implementation of Federal Law No. (3) for the year 2018 regarding amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (6) for the year 2007 regarding the establishment of the Insurance Authority and the organization of its work and its amendments, which mandated the authority to establish committees to settle and solve insurance disputes before Resort to justice.
