The quarantine authorities repeatedly urged the government to maintain tension by saying that it is not easy to develop corona19 treatment and vaccines.

Kwon Joon-wook, deputy general manager of the Central Quarantine and Countermeasures Division, said at the regular briefing held at the Osong Center for Disease Control in Chungcheongbuk-do today (25th), "The biggest risk signal in Corona 19 response is vigilance," and diagnosed that "therapeutics and vaccine development are not successful."

He emphasized that "there are no cure for Corona 19 that has been proven to be effective so far."

Plasma treatment is a treatment method that utilizes the formation of a 'neutralizing antibody' that neutralizes the virus in the blood of a person cured from an infectious disease.

The plasma containing neutralizing antibody is separated from the blood of the cured person and injected into the patient as if transfused.

Although it is attempted to treat a new infectious disease that does not have a clear treatment, some medical professions point out that there is no scientific basis and there is a limit that does not have a great effect.

Moreover, there are many unresolved parts for neutralizing antibodies.

When the quarantine authorities investigated 25 patients in the recovery phase, it was confirmed that all neutralized antibodies were produced, but their defenses were not confirmed.

"Even though it is highly possible that neutralizing antibodies have defensive power, it is not a certain situation anyway," said Kwon.

He said, "Because it is not possible to secure treatments or vaccines at an early stage, please cooperate actively in establishing a social distance." I added.

Currently, seven researches on drug re-invention are underway to expand the indication (treatment range) of existing drugs to Corona 19 in Korea.

There are 3 types led by companies and 4 types supported by the government.

Apart from this, the National Institute of Health is working with companies to develop blood-based antibodies and blood system drugs.

As a result, more than 20 corona19 treatments are being researched in Korea, including drug regeneration and antibody / plasma treatments.

More than 10 vaccine studies are known.

With regard to vaccines, the National Institute of Health is discovering candidate materials, and methods for evaluating vaccines in private companies are also being developed.

The quarantine authorities are uncertain as to which vaccine will work, and open the possibility to various methods such as nucleic acid, recombinant protein, and virus carrier vaccines, and promote it in the form of public-private cooperation.
