Candidates for the buyout of La Halle have until May 25 to file "investment or takeover projects", announced Thursday evening the Vivarte group, owner of the chain of stores placed in the safeguard procedure. The administrators at the bedside of the company therefore left a month "to identify any business continuity solution for the widest possible scope".

Over 6,000 employees in France

Tuesday, the Paris commercial court had decided to open a safeguard procedure for the brand, accompanied by a six-month observation period. Such a procedure, which will not concern the other two brands of Vivarte, Caroll and Minelli, notably allows a company to spread out the settlement of certain receivables and to suspend the payment of rents, the time to reorganize. The group forecasts a “loss of 106 million euros in turnover between March 15 and May 11”.

Last week, the management of Vivarte announced plans to close or sell more than a hundred stores out of 860 in total. La Halle has more than 6,000 employees in France.
