Al-Futtaim Group has announced that it will open the doors of its shopping malls in the United Arab Emirates starting tomorrow, April 25, with reduced working hours to between 12 noon and 10 p.m. Clothes and hookah services are closed according to the directions issued in this regard.

Dubai Festival City Mall and Festival Plaza will open their doors from Saturday, April 25th, with reduced working hours.

The move is in line with the announcement issued by the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management on partial mitigation of movement restrictions in the Emirate of Dubai. Prior to their opening, the shopping centers are committed to all directives and protocols in force, and they are also committed to implementing this partial opening in line with a stringent set of health and safety standards.

On the other hand, visitors to shopping centers must adhere to their health and safety rules while they are there. They must wear a face mask all the time and sterilize their hands before entering the shopping center, and commit to visiting the mall in order to meet the necessary needs only, and ensure compliance with the safety distance that is not less About two meters with others at all times. Moreover, visitors over the age of 60 and children between the ages of 3 and 12 will not be permitted to enter any of the Al-Futtaim shopping centers.

Commenting on this decision, Timothy Earnest, Director of Al-Futtaim Shopping Centers Group said: "We continue to abide by all directives issued by the Dubai government and welcome its decision to partially reopen our shopping centers. We will continue our operations in line with all principles in place to ensure the health and safety of our employees." We have stood together hand in hand since the beginning of this pandemic, and have been keen to cooperate with the government to ensure the safety and health of the lives of our employees, customers, and our tenants without exception. We assure that safety and health issues will remain at the top of our priority list in light of our approach to the opening of shopping centers. We recommend that all visitors must comply fully with the precautionary measures in force in our malls. "

And he added: "This decision comes as an important step in our journey that we will take together, and we continue to work with the relevant government agencies and provide support to them. We sincerely thank the government of the UAE for all the initiatives that it has launched so far with the aim of getting us to this stage, to be able to open our doors To better serve our community in conjunction with the blessed month of Ramadan. "

It is worth noting that Dubai Festival City Mall benefits from the experiences of its healthcare unit, through the presence of a fully equipped HealthHub clinic in the mall building, which will be ready to meet the needs of customers in Dubai Festival City Mall and in Festival Plaza on Both. The center, which is considered the health arm of Al-Futtaim, has played a key role since the beginning of the pandemic in participating in healthcare tasks across the United Arab Emirates, and has contributed to these efforts in organizing “from within the vehicle” examination centers across the country. Founded in October 2019, the HealthHub provides integrated health management services, accessible to all, and supported by smart solutions in a friendly, positive and analytical environment.

It is worth noting that IKEA, Marks, Spencer and Robinsons will be among the retailers that will open their doors starting Saturday, April 25th. Major stores, pharmacies and exchange offices will continue their activities as usual. Al-Futtaim will implement the standard business practices followed during the holy month of Ramadan as usual. Note that all recreational activities such as the Imagine Show at Festival Bay will remain suspended pursuant to government directives until further notice.
