"We have in Bercy twice modified the budget of France in three weeks. 110 billion euros, perhaps it will be necessary to further complete the measures that we have announced. There is no need for ideology, it is necessary a lot of common sense and pragmatism to save the French economy, "said the minister.

"The figures are dizzying and the most serious in public finance since the Second World War," concedes Gérald Darmanin. "This is the case in all countries. In addition, we are preparing the growth of tomorrow. 'To govern is to choose', said Pierre Mendès France, either you choose to ignore the cries of the independents, the restaurateurs, or you are preparing for the growth of tomorrow. " A record debt which has only one objective according to him: to invest for tomorrow, to avoid layoffs and the loss of purchasing power of the French. "We are saving the French economy by extremely important means," he recalls.
