Rakuten Hotels and Ryokans More than 570 patients intending to accept patients with mild illness April 7 18:22

It has been found that more than 570 of the hotels and inns registered on Rakuten's Internet lodging reservation site have so far indicated that they intend to accept mildly infected patients infected with the new coronavirus.

As the outbreak of the new coronavirus spreads, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare last week provided guidelines to ensure that patients with mild or no symptoms are treated at accommodation or at home to prioritize treatment of severely ill patients. Local governments are preparing to secure facilities.

In response to this, Rakuten is conducting an intention survey on about 36,000 hotels and inns registered on the Rakuten Reservation website, "Rakuten Travel," which will be operated from the 5th.

As a result, by the evening of the 6th, 571 facilities nationwide had indicated their intention to accept people with mild illness.

The number of rooms will be about 65,000, and Rakuten will call on the government and local governments to utilize them.
