In addition to the health crisis, the coronavirus pandemic is a financially difficult period for the most vulnerable people. Faced with this situation, Engie decided to make a gesture to relieve certain households. The electricity supplier has announced that it will reimburse the subscription amount for two months to the poorest families, reports Le Parisien on Monday.

Concretely, this gesture will affect 600,000 subscribers for an amount estimated at 12 million euros. These are people who benefit from an energy check or assistance from the housing solidarity fund, as Claire Waysand, CEO of Engie, said in a tweet. The group will reimburse in April the amount of the subscription for the month of April, then in June that of the month of May.

At the same time, the company has also decided to introduce payment facilities for professionals affected by the crisis.
