“As a result of the analysis of the information posted on the Internet, information was received about the overstatement of food prices by network enterprises,” the department said, noting that this could lead to a violation of consumer rights.

The FAS has been instructed to "give a legal assessment of the reasonableness of the increase in prices for the specified type of product."

Earlier in the FAS said that the rise in price of ginger, lemon and garlic is associated with a limited supply from abroad and increased demand.
