The high-speed rail starts from Shenzhen in the east, passes through Dongguan, Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Yangjiang, and west to Maoming. The main line is 388 kilometers long and is divided into two phases of construction from Jiangmen to Maoming and Shenzhen to Jiangmen. Completed and put into operation in July 2018.

To ensure the safety of the tunnel structure and construction safety, it is necessary to provide a working interface for underwater drilling and geological survey by closing the main channel and opening a temporary channel, and finally provide scientific support for the preliminary design. After the Shenzhen-Mao Railway is opened to traffic, Shenzhen to Maoming will be shortened from nearly 7 hours to less than 3 hours.

It is understood that the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway feasibility study report of the Shenmao High-speed Railway was jointly approved by China Railway Group and Guangdong Province in early March this year.
