The Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Integrated Transport Center and the Food Group, launched an initiative to secure the needs of citizens and residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi from consumer goods, especially foodstuffs, and to deliver them to their homes without the need to bother going out and buying from sales outlets Different.

The Department’s Undersecretary, Rashid Abdul Karim Al Balooshi, said that this initiative translates the directions of the leadership of the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in securing the needs of the people of the emirate in different categories, and at the same time translates the statement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council For the Emirate of Abu Dhabi: “Food and medicine are a red line, and they are never chilin.”

From this standpoint, Al Balushi added that the Department of Economic Development, in cooperation with its strategic partners, to take necessary measures and arrangements to achieve the sustainability of basic commodity supplies for all consumers in various regions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, provided that they are characterized by a safe and affordable manner for citizens and residents, to meet their necessary needs in light of The current difficult circumstances caused by the spread of the Corona virus.

He explained that the initiative includes providing two main services, the first is to provide the necessary and main commodities and secure them by increasing the preparation of sales outlets, in order to spread in all the cities and regions of the emirate, so that a food company opens more outlets in coordination with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, to facilitate options for consumers to purchase from the nearest outlet for them.

He pointed out that the "Agthia" group, like other sales outlets, such as "Carrefour" and cooperative societies, and "Lulu", and others, provide a smart application to display their products, so that the consumer can choose the consumables that he wants to acquire and pay through it.

Al-Balooshi indicated that the second service lies in delivering consumer goods from the sales outlets to the homes of consumers, through the integrated transportation center, who will in turn receive the delivery request from Agthia and other sales outlets at reasonable prices, according to the personal data included in the purchase order.
