It is reported by the Financial Times with reference to the Prime Minister of the Canadian largest oil producing province Albert Jason Kenny.

Countries can take such a step if Moscow and Riyadh are not able to conclude a deal on oil production in the near future.

The publication indicates that US officials have also confirmed that the US Department of Energy is considering whether duties will be an effective method of influencing Saudi Arabia and Russia. Along with this, other options for resolving this issue are being discussed.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump expressed the hope that Russia and Saudi Arabia will reduce oil production by 10 million barrels or more.

At the same time, he noted that he did not exclude the possibility of introducing oil duties from Saudi Arabia.
