The Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hamad Buamim, revealed that the Community Solidarity Fund against the outbreak of the emerging corona disease (Covid 19), which was launched by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, represents an essential step towards facing the economic, social and health challenges caused by the spread and spread of the new Corona virus. He emphasized that the Chamber got a pledge from a remarkable number of international multinationals and family companies in the emirate to contribute to the fund’s financing, and to carry out its responsibility towards its society in which it operates, and to support the business environment in the emirate in these sensitive conditions that the global economy is going through, stressing that the next stage You will witness the concerted efforts of all in the private sector to face common challenges, and the private sector will prove that it is present to exercise its conscious role in serving the community.

Bouamim pointed out that the chamber will work in coordination with the relevant government agencies to harness the fund’s revenues to support the private sector in the emirate, indicating that it has developed an integrated work plan to focus on supporting the small and medium-sized companies sector that suffers in these exceptional circumstances, in addition to supporting construction workers and real estate projects who They finished work on their projects, and they left them stranded, especially with the closure of many airports around the world and the cancellation of flights.

He explained that the issue of construction workers and real estate projects is a subject that has economic, social and health dimensions, and therefore the Chamber is keen to support workers in this sector and facilitate their affairs and their various logistical and humanitarian requirements, based on the Chamber's mission to represent, support and protect the interests of the business community in the emirate.

Bouamim revealed new steps that will be adopted by the Chamber during the coming period, the most prominent of which is the preparation of a set of analytical studies of market performance indicators, developments in the current crisis and its potential repercussions, allowing decision makers in the government and business sector to form a clear picture of how to deal with this crisis and find practical solutions to it.

He clarified that the Chamber's Business Ethics Center will also activate its role in motivating companies on the importance of their societal and sustainable role, and encourage them to take concrete steps consistent with the emirate’s vision of establishing its position as a responsible and sustainable global business destination, stressing that the societal role of the business sector is no less important than Its institutional role in providing services and products, indicating that the Chamber will strive to ensure business continuity and mitigate the effects of the Corona virus crisis on the private sector and various economic sectors.
