The International Bureau of Exhibitions, the authority responsible for "Expo" exhibitions, said that the government of the United Arab Emirates and in solidarity with the participating countries proposed to change the date of "Expo 2020 Dubai", to the period between 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

The office added in a statement on its website today, that it received the request following discussions with the Steering Committee of Expo 2020 Dubai, which supported the postponement of the exhibition's opening for a year in light of the effects of the "Covid-19" virus, indicating that the final decision on changing dates takes place. By a two-thirds majority of the member states according to the Paris Agreement of 1928.

The office indicated that it would hold a meeting on April 21 to discuss changing appointments.
