The CEOE employers have closed the signing of the former Minister of Labor, Fátima Báñez , to pilot a new project of coordination and enhancement of the companies that make donations. It will not be paid, according to the organization. Báñez's first mission will be intermediation from the CEOE Foundation to channel business contributions against the coronavirus, according to a statement from the employers.

"I am very excited about this solidarity project. It is time to add," the former PP minister told this newspaper.

The President of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, has been trying to incorporate Báñez for a long time and the signing takes place before the two years of incompatibility of the former Minister of Labor expire, although the parties consider that there is no irregularity by not mediating salary. "I have the authorization of the Conflict Office," says Báñez.

According to the CEOE statement, the Companies that help project is launched in this way "with the aim of coordinating, through its Foundation, the solidarity initiatives that start from companies to help face the crisis of COVID-19".

The employers' association hopes that the initiative "will multiply its effectiveness, trying to coordinate different offers and demands, attending to the greatest possible number of needs.

Garamendi has also taken advantage to recover for the board of trustees of the CEOE foundation the resigned former vice president of the employers, Juan Pablo Lázaro, and also former vice president Joan Gaspart. "We want our commitment to solidarity to go further, reach more and work better," said Garamendi in his statement presenting the project.
