The Department of Energy in Abu Dhabi announced that it will conduct reviews of the electrical wiring instructions in force since 2014 in the emirate in order to find an opportunity to reduce the financial and technical burdens on citizens wishing to build residential villas without compromising public safety or the safety of installations.
The work team of the Department of Organizational Affairs in the department has reviewed these instructions in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company and Al Ain Distribution Company, and some paragraphs have been identified in the instructions that can be modified, in turn, to reduce the burden on owners of residential villas.
For his part, Eng. Mohammed bin Jarash Al Falasi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Energy Department, said: “The department works with its partners to improve the services provided to citizens in the emirate and implement the guidance of good leadership aimed at enhancing the quality of life and happiness of society.”

And he said: «The step of reviewing the instructions for electrical installations comes within the framework of providing financial burdens and efforts of technical installations on citizens, while achieving the highest levels of efficiency and safety in delivering electricity to homes. We will continue to work with various parties to review more of these instructions and to provide an encouraging environment for citizens to build their homes and achieve optimal use of energy and water services in the emirate. ”

For this purpose, the work teams of the Energy Department and Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Distribution Company updated the instructions related to allocating a room for electricity distribution boards in residential villas, and their citizens were allowed to install wall distribution panels with a maximum electric current of 399 amps as an alternative to the electricity rooms that were a physical burden on owners Villas, which will enable citizens to save 25 thousand dirhams as a minimum of the value of the cost of establishing electricity rooms, in addition to avoiding allocating an area of land for this purpose.

It is expected that at least 50% of the owners of new residential villas in the emirate will benefit from these amendments.
Owners of new residential villas can apply to the distribution company responsible for the region in which the villa will be built in Abu Dhabi or Al Ain, through the procedures followed to review the installation requests and will be approved by the two companies after adhering to all the requirements for that according to the instructions agreed between the energy department and the two distribution companies .
