The Dubai Economic Department announced yesterday the launch of the daily "price observatory" of prices at the minimum and maximum levels of basic food commodities and necessary products, to ensure that consumers continue to obtain their important needs at fair prices, despite the precautionary measures taken in the current exceptional circumstances resulting from the outbreak of the "Corona" virus The newbie.

In addition, the department stated, in a statement, that the portal (Price.ded.ae) has been launched to enable consumers to raise their complaints about the increase in commodity prices in a faster and easier way.

She explained that the initiative aims to enhance consumer confidence, by eliminating any shortage or manipulation of prices in the local market, noting that consumers can submit their complaints on the portal in both Arabic or English by following simple steps, along with attaching images that support their demands, to take over an economic Dubai handle it and treat it immediately.

She added that the observatory, available in both Arabic and English, corresponds to the goals of Dubai’s economic campaign “Be right and know your rights as a consumer.” It helps shoppers and companies monitor and compare prices of 41 products of basic foodstuffs, including: rice, bread, flour, cooking oil, meat, poultry, fish and milk. Eggs, water, salt, sugar, fruits, vegetables, and hygiene items: such as sterilization materials and daily face masks.

The Dubai Economy stated that it will assess the demand and supply in the local market to issue the price observatory regularly, in addition to dealing with any possible complaints from shoppers and merchants.

Teams of the commercial control and consumer protection sector in Dubai’s economy will coordinate with retail chains and supermarkets in the emirate to publish the daily observatory of prices at the minimum and maximum levels.

The initiative is part of the tasks of monitoring and monitoring the market, as inspection campaigns have intensified in recent days, in order to reassure society and protect consumer rights.
