The World Summit for Industry and Manufacturing (the Summit), the joint initiative between the UAE and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization "UNIDO", has announced the transformation of its third session in 2020 into a series of virtual dialogues.


The summit invited leading intellectuals and leaders of the industrial sector from different parts of the world to communicate for the first time in the history of the sector through virtual dialogues and contribute to reshaping the future of the global industrial sector.


The third session of the World Summit on Industry and Manufacturing was scheduled to be held in April this year in Hanover, Germany, along with the exhibition "Hannover Messe 2020", under the slogan "Germany is the link for the global industrial sector", drawing its topics from the leading German experience in Connecting the global industry sector community with its digital solutions and advanced technologies.


The Summit announced that its 2020 session will turn into a series of virtual dialogues after assessing the logistical and economic risks associated with the outbreak of the new Corona virus, in coordination with its leaders, the UAE Minister of Energy and Industry, Suhail Muhammad Al Mazrouei, and the Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Lee Young.


The head of the Organizing Committee of the World Summit for Industry and Manufacturing, Badr Salim Sultan Al-Ulama said: "We have set out to provide a practical and safe way that enables us to bring together all parties interested in participating in the activities of the summit at the top of our priorities, while maintaining the vision and mission of the World Summit for Industry and Manufacturing."


He added that "the series of virtual dialogues came to provide an innovative solution that would ensure that the summit is held in a safe and appropriate environment for holding dialogues aimed at reshaping the future of the industrial sector."


And with the spread of the epidemic that affected the movement of daily life around the world, the Fourth Industrial Revolution provides unprecedented opportunities to restore our economic and social lives, and thus the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution become hope for a new era of growth rather than a factor in spreading turmoil in global markets.
