  • Government. 45 days of unpredictability and passivity that allowed the virus to claw

The National Autonomous Federation (ATA) has sent a letter to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in which he informs him of the extreme situation in which many of these workers are as a result of the coronavirus crisis and, therefore, they "beg" and "beg" to suspend the quota for this March.

"It has been said that the self-employed can access the benefit and be exempt from fees, but in a week it is impossible to manage everything . When they see the fees charged to their accounts at the end of the month, they will feel frustration and much discomfort . We warn and we ask for an urgent solution such as the suspension of the quota. There is a lot of suffocation among the self-employed: rents, social security for workers, electricity, water ... and also the quota, "ATA president Lorenzo explains to this newspaper Love.

The Royal Decree of extraordinary measures to face the economic and social impact of Covid-19 provides, in its article 17, "the extraordinary benefit for cessation of activity for self-employed or self-employed workers affected by the declaration of alarm status and exonerates them from paying Social Security fees, "they explain from the Federation.

"The deadline for requesting the extraordinary benefit is from March 15 to April 14, without prejudice to it being extended if the state of alarm is extended. However, and in view of the nearness of the date on which The payment of the fee is made. There may be formal errors in the applications submitted so far and, therefore, these have been denied, "the self-employed indicate.

For this reason, the letter conveys " a request, a favor, even a plea , which, given the situation of lack of activity and liquidity of the self-employed at the moment and limited operation of managing bodies, to suspend the collection of fees from all self-employed on March 31 ".

Escrivá guaranteed the measure

The request for the measure comes after, last Thursday, the Social Security Minister, José Luis Escrivá, guaranteed that "all the self-employed workers forced to close due to the state of alarm or with a fall in income of 75%, have already entitled to the benefit "that was approved in the last Council of Ministers," they will be exempt from paying contributions to Social Security "and" they will receive a benefit equivalent to 70% of the regulatory base, which is a minimum of 661 euros " .

This was stated by Escrivá through his account on the social network Twitter. and in which he also accused ATA of spreading "hoaxes" and " fake news ", and denied that any modification was being prepared for the next Council of Ministers since these benefits for the self-employed, contrary to what was denounced by the Federation, they were already included in the Royal Decree.

Restoration, tourism and commerce of Catalonia ask for the suspension of taxes

The employers' associations Foment Comerç and PIMEC Comerç, together with the support of 22 entities, unions and associations in the Catalan commerce, tourism and catering sector, demand that they suspend, for the next three months, the presentation of tax declarations and self-assessments (especially in in relation to VAT, Personal Income Tax and Social Security fees), both monthly and those related to the entire first quarter, except for those entitled to a refund, as is customary in the tourist and hotel apartments sector.

Likewise, they request that the measure be applied regardless of the amount and the subjects that carry them out, without interest, and that these suspended amounts, where appropriate, can be divided into payments later during the following six months.
