The confinement to fight against the coronavirus does not prevent the French from rushing on certain goods. After pasta and toilet paper in supermarkets, it is the printers, freezers, consoles and board games that are causing the craze on e-commerce sites. Fnac Darty thus indicated to LSA to have known a peak of purchases this Tuesday.

"Overall, our sites registered 65,000 orders in one day," explains Olivier Garcia, the group's product director. Computer equipment saw its sales increase fivefold, and even tenfold for printers and cartridges. Confined persons indeed want to be able to print the certificates of derogatory displacement.

Freezers and board games too

Fnac Darty has also sold ten times more freezers since Emmanuel Macron's first speech on March 12. The same increase is observed for extracurricular articles intended for pupils who are no longer in school. Children should also be entertained. This is why the game consoles sold five times more than before the health crisis and the board games four times.

BFM TV notes that on the Amazon site, "printer" is the sixth most frequently searched term, ahead of protective masks, hydroalcoholic gel, toilet paper and even disposable gloves.
