[Explanation] At the beginning of March, the second-tier construction of the Yuhuai Railway in Huaihua, Hunan, resumed production, and at the same time, the work of crossing the dragon on the side of No. 1 Wushuiwantan Bridge in Huaihua was started as a way to open the "throat" project of the project. A good foundation is laid for simplifying the construction process and further promoting bridge connection across the railway. This is also the first bridge span of Helong since the railway project was resumed in Huaihua.

It is understood that the Yuhuai Railway is an important construction project of the national medium-to-long-term railway network planning, and is responsible for the country ’s “centralized and contiguous poverty-stricken areas” in the Wuling Mountain Area and the key task of poverty alleviation. With the economic development, the original line has been unable to meet the demand for material transportation. The second line of Yuhuai Railway will build an additional transport line next to the existing single railway line. The west line runs from the Xiangyu Railway Tuanjiecun Station to the west, spans Chongqing, Guizhou, and Hunan provinces and ends at Hunan Huaihua South Station.

The reporter saw at the scene that under the conveyance of the pump truck, the concrete pouring of the continuous beam on the side bridge of No. 1 Wushuiwantan Bridge began. With the pumping of the last square concrete, the continuous beam of the side bridge of Wushuiwantan No. 1 Bridge was completed successfully.

This side span of Helong is equivalent to a throat project of our Yuhuai (second railway line). Its Helong provides a paved passage for our Yuhuai railway.

[Explanation] On the site, the Wushuiwan Beach Bridge, built by the China Railway 25th Bureau Group, includes three bridges No. 1, 2, and 3, which are constructed concurrently on the Wushui River in Huaihua, Hunan. Within a distance of less than 100 meters, and the bridge foundations are located on both sides of the sharp-curved channels of the Wushui River, the water flow is turbulent, and the bottom of the river is a hard rocky riverbed with shallow overburden. The construction of pile foundations and cofferdams is extremely difficult.

The turn of the river is 90 degrees, and the water flow is large, which makes the construction of the bridge lower structure more difficult. We have combined (adopted) two methods of building island cofferdams and steel sheet pile cofferdams, and used the dry season to grab the progress of the construction period. At present, all the substructures have been completed, and the superstructures have been completed by 80%.

[Explanation] According to Huang Jiajun, technical director of the second line and eight standard project of the second line of the Yuhuai Railway of the 25th Bureau of China Railway, the Wushuiwan Beach Bridge is the control project for the second line of the Yuhuai Railway and the only entry and exit passageway in Huaihua. Seen as the "lifeline" of all work. During the new crown pneumonia epidemic, while taking good precautionary measures, the project department made every effort to seize the construction period to ensure the smooth resumption of the project.

(Construction staff) There are from Hunan, Jiangxi, Guizhou and so on. We perform temperature tests on these returnees three times a day, disinfect the site once a day, and distribute prevention and control materials. Each team returned to the post is trained in epidemic prevention knowledge.
