Sources familiar with the Egyptian civil aviation announced the abolition of 11 flights between the Egyptian airports and Kuwait today, Saturday, after the Kuwaiti civil aviation decided to stop all incoming and outgoing flights from Egypt for a week within the framework of its procedures to confront the new Corona virus.
The sources said that Kuwait ranks third in the number of flights with Egypt, with an average of 76 flights per week.
The sources added that there are a number of flights that have not been decided upon regarding their cancellation, as their travel will be limited to Kuwaiti passengers only, without transporting any other passengers in implementation of the decision of the Kuwaiti authorities.
On Friday, Kuwait decided to prevent entry from seven countries, namely Bangladesh, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon, due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.
The decision indicated that citizens of the State of Kuwait coming from those countries would be allowed to enter, provided that the necessary quarantine procedures were applied to them, and that the relevant authorities be instructed to take the necessary measures to implement this decision, according to the Kuwait News Agency.
The Kuwaiti Cabinet also decided during a special meeting to stop all incoming and outgoing flights to and from Kuwait International Airport for the seven countries, for a week.
The Kuwaiti Cabinet affirmed that "all measures and measures taken are to protect the health and safety of citizens and residents, including those who come to the country from their residents or visitors to it, and do not target individuals, groups, nationalities, or countries, which requires everyone to understand these measures and respond to them in appreciation of the severity of the epidemic." .
