This came during the participation of "Dubai Customs" in the periodic meeting of the "SAFE" working group, which was held at the headquarters of the World Customs Organization in the Belgian city of Brussels, recently.

The Director General of "Dubai Customs", Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, said in a statement yesterday that "(Dubai Customs) played a major role in implementing the program of the economic operator approved in the UAE, under the umbrella of the Federal Customs Authority, as well as its leadership role in applying the latest regulations And programs related to customs clearance, inspection and inspection. Musabeh added that «Dubai Customs’s experience has already demonstrated the success of the program in achieving its desired goals, according to the framework and standards of security and facilitation of the supply chain in international trade (SAFE)», noting that «the number of member companies in the program is currently 70 companies» .

And he stated that recent statistics for "Dubai Customs" showed that the number of customs transactions, which were carried out through the program, recorded 5.6 million transactions, accounting for 43% of the total number of transactions, which recorded 13 million transactions last year, and the member companies of the program achieved savings In the operating cost by 36%, as companies confirmed that the program contributed effectively to boosting their foreign trade, through the speedy completion of customs transactions, and improving the speed of customs clearance of shipments by more than 53%.

Iman Badr Al Suwaidi, director of the customs value department, director of the approved economic operator program in "Dubai Customs", said that "the approved economic operator program represents the latest link in the chain of regulations and programs adopted by the customs sector in the UAE, as the program represents one of the requirements of an agreement The World Trade Organization to facilitate trade, which the UAE has ratified, as the first Arab country to ratify this agreement.
