The daily supply is set anyway, but as demand continues to grow, the health authorities have issued new guidelines saying they will change the standard for mask use. I told you how to use a disposable mask again.

Cho Dong-chan, a medical journalist, pointed out whether this is all right for the prevention of infectious diseases.

The Food and Drug Administration announced that they would change the criteria for using masks.

First of all, we have to choose who should wear masks, such as medical workers, patients with respiratory symptoms, people who need to deal with many people, such as kindergarten nursery teachers, elderly people who are vulnerable to Corona19 or underlying diseases.

The priority of supply was to consider the emergency of lack of masks, but it was too late.

The Hong Kong government has already declared a month ago that "there's a lack of masks for medical professionals, so refrain from using it for the general public."

The KFDA also proposed guidelines for the reuse of disposable health masks for the general public.

[Eui-Kyung / Director of Food and Drug Administration: Health masks can be reused only for the same person when temporarily used. After use, walk in a clean, well-ventilated place and dry thoroughly before reuse.]

However, the reuse of disposables is contrary to the principle of infectious disease prevention, and the phrases "less likely to be polluted" or "temporary" are vague to guide the behavior.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has guidelines for healthcare practitioners to reuse N95 masks in emergencies, but there are no guidelines for reuse for the general public and the World Health Organization has no guidelines for mask reuse.

Frequently sucking and using a cloth mask seems a more realistic alternative than reusing disposable masks.
