He emphasized that Austria is “generally negative” about extraterritorial sanctions.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Russia reported that forecasts for the timing of the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project remain, it will be completed in late 2020 - early 2021.
In December, the US Treasury announced sanctions against Nord Stream 2.
On February 4, the Handelsblatt newspaper, citing diplomatic circles in Washington, said the United States intended to impose new sanctions on the project.
Rainer Seele, head of the Austrian oil and gas company OMV, which finances the construction of the gas pipeline, praised Russia's chances to complete the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
