Since 2004, the imposing convoy has regularly traveled between Langon en Gironde and Blagnac, near Toulouse, where the A380 assembly line is located. On Monday evening, the convoy carrying elements of the Airbus widebody made its last trip to the Pink City, since its production is due to end in 2021.

Onlookers were numerous on the way to witness the passage of eight trucks carrying a full A380, which arrived in Toulouse overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.

Parts from various Airbus sites

The fuselage and empennage of the super-jumbo came from the factory in Hamburg, Germany, while the gigantic wings were manufactured in Broughton, Wales.

In April, a final convoy will transport three-quarters of the wide-body parts and elements of the Beluga XL, the cargo aircraft used to transport the parts of the aircraft between the various European sites of the aircraft manufacturer.
