Clothing group C&A sells its Mexican activities, including all stores, to its counterpart Grupo Axo. Parent company Cofra Holding has announced this.
C&A started 20 years ago in Mexico. According to the C&A Mexico website, the chain has 75 stores in more than sixty different cities in the Central American country. C&A Mexico has around four thousand employees.
It is not stated how much Grupo Axo pays for the acquisition, which still needs to be approved by the authorities. C&A has a total of nearly 1,900 stores with around 51,000 employees in 21 countries, mainly in Europe. Sea is the brand present not only in Mexico but also in Brazil and China.
C&A was founded in 1841 by Clemens and August (C&A) Brenninkmeijer.
