Foreign visitors to Japan fell 1.1% year-on-year

Foreign tourists visiting Japan 1.1% decrease from the same month of the previous year February 19 at 16:05

According to the Japan Tourism Board, the number of foreign visitors to Japan last month was estimated at 2.661,000, down 1.1% from the same month last year. The main factor was that the number of tourists decreased for the fourth consecutive month, with Korean tourists dropping by 316,800 to 59.4% due to severe Japan-Korea relations.

On the other hand, Chinese tourists increased by 22.6% to 924,800.
Although the number of tourists visiting Japan has decreased since the end of last month due to the spread of the new coronavirus, a large number of visitors came in the first half of last month.
