Representatives of companies producing bottled drinking water announced on the sidelines of their participation in the activities of the Gulf Food Expo, "Gulfood 2020", today the establishment of the first association of manufacturers of bottled water, based in Dubai and operating under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

They indicated to "Emirates Today", on the sidelines of the association's first meeting on membership and establishment agreements, that a meeting will be held next month to discuss the operations of joining UAE and Gulf companies to the association.

In turn, the head of the Emirates Refreshments Company, Mohammed Al Owais, said, "The new association has obtained the necessary foundation approvals and aims to discuss ways to develop the bottled drinking water industry sector, and ways to find the necessary solutions to the challenges facing it."

For his part, Tariq Ahmed Al Awadi, CEO of "Foods" group, added that "the association, which will be based in Dubai as a headquarters for its work, aims to form a federation that includes the various drinking water factories in the Gulf region, whose number reaches about 500 factories, in order to benefit from the unified assembly of manufacturers in the development of Strategies that support the development of the industry and the development of its external business and local markets, in addition to confronting the problems facing the industry through a unified conglomerate, pointing out that "periodic meetings will be discussed during the coming period to expand to include new members of the association, which is the first of its kind in the region and serves as a regional group of The International company of producers of drinking "Eboa" water.
