The Government will approve in the "next weeks" a Royal Decree to promote the implementation of charging points for electric cars in the state road network.

This was announced by the Minister of Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda, José Luis Ábalos , who explained that this measure is intended to "promote the deployment by private operators of a recharge network of electric vehicles."

The measure will be implemented by modifying the Ministerial Order of access to the road network, in order to include in this legal text the way to connect to this network the ' electrolineras ' that are installed, just as they are currently contemplates for conventional gas stations.

During his speech at the VIII Civil Engineering Congress, Ábalos has framed this measure in the commitment to sustainable mobility that will be addressed by his Department.

In this sense, the head of Transportation also advanced that "in a few months" he will have a first draft of the Mobility Strategy that he plans to design so that, once submitted to the public debate "with administrations and social agents", it will end up being concretized in a Consensus Mobility Law.
