Dubai Smart Department announced the application and use of “principles and guidelines for artificial intelligence ethics” in 18 use cases in the Emirate of Dubai, of which 15 are cases used for initiatives of the Roads and Transport Authority, and three cases of use developed by the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the Dubai Smart Department with both the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Authority Health and Dubai Customs Department.
Smart Dubai launched a system of principles and guidelines to improve government services and enhance opportunities for its adoption of artificial intelligence solutions by providing a wide range of guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence applications, which enhance the achievement of the values of justice, transparency and accountability of individuals and institutions concerned with providing artificial intelligence services in Dubai .
The Director General of the Dubai Smart Department, Dr. Aisha Bint Butti bin Bishr, said, "Artificial intelligence is gaining increasing momentum all over the world, as reliable studies predict that the sector can contribute $ 15.7 trillion to the global economy during 2030."
She added that «the UAE has for a long time been leading the region and most countries in the process of adopting artificial intelligence, starting with the appointment of a minister of artificial intelligence, and through launching an ambitious national strategy for this vital sector.
She stressed the importance of "principles and guidelines for artificial intelligence ethics" that provide a self-assessment tool and clear guidelines on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in a manner that prevents the use of a fragmented approach to ethics.
For his part, said Assistant Director General of Dubai Smart Department and Executive Director of Dubai Data Corporation, Younis Al Nasser, that artificial intelligence has evolved greatly to form a separate sector of his own in the presence of amazing interest and growth for him, and with the expansion of the Foundation's services network that works with the artificial intelligence and spread The wide range of this specialized technology has become important to have principles for organizing and directing the sector.
